Ochsner St. Martin Hospital committed itself to increasing local care in fiscal year 2016 and far surpassed those goals. The Imaging Department at Ochsner St. Martin Hospital received overwhelming positive feedback from the public on their customer service and patient care, even after seeing a 27% increase in volume from the year before.

The attention paid to local, quality care did not go unnoticed. Ochsner St. Martin Hospital celebrated Inpatient Satisfaction in the 93rd percentile, Emergency Department Satisfaction in the 93rd percentile and Outpatient Satisfaction in the 99th percentile. It’s because of this connection to the community that Ochsner St. Martin Hospital was able to hold an inaugural celebration gala, which contributes to the growth and development of the hospital. Susan G. Komen witnessed the commitment to healthcare and education at Ochsner St. Martin Hospital and awarded a grant for the hospital to continue providing free screening mammograms and patient education.

Ochsner St. Martin Hospital cares for its patients as much as it cares about the community it serves. That’s why the hospital-sponsored Project Front Yard for all St. Martin Parish schools. The program is an initiative to unify and beautify Acadiana.

As the fiscal year came to an end, Ochsner St. Martin Hospital began construction on St. Martin Hospital Specialty Center. This state of the art building will be located along Champagne Blvd., across the street from the main hospital entrance. Featuring a number of different clinics, this uniquely designed facility will provide quality, comprehensive outpatient medical care for the parish.

Hospital Capacity

Ochsner St. Martin Hospital is a critical access hospital maintaining inpatient acute beds and a skilled nursing rehabilitation unit, as well as a staffed 24-hour emergency room. The hospital is licensed for 25 beds.

In addition, Ochsner St. Martin Hospital’s newest expansion offers the latest in patient-care technology and allows us to offer you more services than ever before. Completed in March of 2021, this $18 million, 30,000-square-foot expansion doubled the hospital’s existing size and consists of: 

• 25 new patient rooms outfitted with special display screens that provide real-time chart updates and sync with your records
• A nursing unit equipped to accommodate patients with varying levels of acuity
• A new Open-Air MRI machine 
• New surgical suites equipped with modern infection prevention technology that allows for surgery and heart catheterization procedures–the first available at Ochsner St. Martin Hospital

Emergency Department

Patient satisfaction scores reflect our sincere dedication to quality care, as we rank among the highest scores achievable. Ochsner St. Martin Hospital features the only emergency room available in all of St. Martin Parish. As an alternative to the ER, Ochsner St. Martin Hospital offers primary care through its walk-in community health clinic.
