Ochsner Lafayette General Surgical Hospital and Oil Center Surgical Plaza perform nearly 8,000 surgeries annually. This volume enables Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center to focus on more critical patients and procedures.
Ochsner Lafayette General Surgical Hospital and Oil Center Surgical Plaza offered new surgical services and wrapped up the year with awards. Both Ochsner Lafayette General Surgical Hospital and Oil Center Surgical Plaza scored in the 99th percentile for Patient Satisfaction. This proves both entities are committed to continually improving their services in order to make sure every patient experience is a pleasant one.
Oil Center Surgical Plaza provides a first-of-its-kind procedure in Acadiana with the CATALYS® Precision Laser System. The laser provides patients with a less invasive option for cataract surgery. In only four months, Oil Center Surgical Plaza's Ophthalmologists performed over 100 CATALYS® laser cataract surgeries since first performing this operation in May. Not only did Oil Center Surgical Plaza see an increase in overall surgeries, but they also added more surgeries in Urology, Neurology, Ophthalmology and general surgery.
