Grateful Patients, Melissa and Ryan Decell, had hopes of meeting their son Clark alive when he was born, despite his terminal diagnosis. While he only lived for 59 minutes, the CuddleCot, a cooling system that preserves still born babies while their parents grieve allowed the Decells to spend much more time with their baby before leaving the hospital.
Through their grief, the Decell’s partnered with the Ochsner Lafayette General Foundation to raise money to help other grieving families through a donation of funds to establish “A Cuddle from Clark.” Ochsner Lafayette General Foundation is still accepting donations and will continue to support the program on-going.
