Urgent Care Centers Changing Name

After earning designation as a Certified Urgent Care provider, Lafayette General’s two Family Health Plaza Urgent Care clinics will change their name to reflect the distinguished classification. The two locations, located in River Ranch in Lafayette and Sugar Mill Pond in Youngsville, will be known as Lafayette General Urgent Care, dropping the Family Health Plaza name.

The name change is intended to reflect guarantees that come with Urgent Care Association of America certification, such as: treating walk-in patients over the age of 12 months for a wide spectrum of non-emergent conditions; providing X-ray and lab services on site; staffing of licensed physicians and providers at all times; being equipped with life-saving equipment; and being open 7 days a week.

The Family Health Plaza name was first used by Lafayette General when it built its walk-in clinic at River Ranch in 2004.

Lafayette General Urgent Care Centers accept patients, with no appointment necessary, to treat medical conditions ranging from vaccinations, aches and sprains to cuts, burns and fractures. These centers offer convenience and cost savings to consumers, while helping relieve crowded hospital emergency rooms.

Lafayette General Urgent Care Centers are located at 1216 Camellia Blvd. in Lafayette, and 2810 Bonin Road in Youngsville.
