Trexler Named CEO at Acadia General Hospital

It is with great encouragement and confidence that Lafayette General Health President David L. Callecod, FACHE, announces Donald D. Trexler as the new Chief Executive Officer at Acadia General Hospital. Trexler had been serving as Interim Administrator of the hospital since March 1.

“I am dedicated to growing Acadia General and exceeding its potential,” says Trexler. “In addition to working with our medical community, my main focus will be to bring financial stability to AGH.”

Before arriving in Crowley, Trexler had served as CEO of Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital in Hammond, LA. His experience working with and growing physician numbers in his previous roles was key to his appointment.

Other previous experience includes: Healthcare Strategy Consultant, TAP Group New Orleans; CEO, Southern California Orthopedic Institute; CEO, Bienville Orthopedic Specialists; and VP Physician Services and Network Development, Trover Clinic Foundation.

Already very active in the Crowley community, his past professional and community involvement includes being a board member, Saint Scholastica Academy (SSA); Chairperson, Academic Excellence Committee (SSA); board member, United Way St. Tammany Parish; and member, Tangipahoa Parish Chamber of Commerce.

Trexler earned his Bachelor of Science in health information management, and masters’ degrees in both Healthcare Administration and Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh.
