St. Martin Hospital was named one of the 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare for 2014 by Modern Healthcare magazine. The recognition honors workplaces throughout the healthcare industry, on a national level, that empower their employees to provide patients and customers with the best possible care, products and services.

The March of Dimes and Louisiana Hospital Association Research and Education Foundation recognized Lafayette General Medical Center for being among the hospitals that have helped reduce the number of elective inductions and cesarean deliveries performed before 39 completed weeks of pregnancy. As part of the “Healthy Babies Are Worth the Wait” campaign, LGMC was among 18 hospitals recognized statewide through the Strong Start for Mothers and Newborns initiative, a partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
