OCHSNER HEALTH ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH JAMES ANDREWS, MD, AND ANDREWS MEDICINE

Partnership builds on Ochsner’s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine programs, including the experts at Ochsner Lafayette General

Lafayette, La. – Internationally-renowned orthopedic surgeon James R. Andrews, MD announced an exclusive five-year partnership with Ochsner Health. Building upon Ochsner’s award-winning sports medicine and orthopedic programs throughout the state, Dr. Andrews will bring his expertise, research, and education platform, newly launched as Andrews Medicine, to strengthen the best-in-class care for patients and athletes across Louisiana and Mississippi.

As part of Ochsner Health system, the Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedics and Sports Medicine service lines will work in consultation with Dr. Andrews to expand Ochsner’s accredited orthopedic sports medicine programs and to enhance sports performance protocols and offerings. The Ochsner Lafayette General Sports Medicine program includes 31 athletic trainers across the region and has partnerships with high school athletic programs that span 26 schools throughout Acadiana.

Each month, Dr. Andrews will consult with Ochsner physicians and sports medicine teams across the state to provide guidance and share clinical best practices. He will also participate in educational, research and professional development initiatives, while he continues his leadership and advocacy in preventing youth sports injuries which has been a passion of Dr. Andrews for the last 20 years.

Otis Drew, MD, and Paul Williams, MD, are also board-certified in both orthopedics and sports medicine and practice alongside Dr. Etier and the team of orthopedic surgeons at the Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Center.
