New Family Physician Coming to Kaplan

Lafayette General Health and Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital welcome family medicine physician Shauna Bienvenu, M.D., who is opening her practice in Kaplan on October 16.

Dr. Bienvenu’s new practice will be a traditional family practice, treating men and women, as well as children one-year-old and up. She will also see patients for women’s health. Her office will not only service those living in Kaplan, but also Abbeville, Erath, Gueydan and surrounding areas too.

Dr. Bienvenu is a graduate of Louisiana State University, earning her Doctor of Medicine at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport, and a Bachelor of Science at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and at University Hospital & Clinics in Lafayette.

Professional organization that Dr. Bienvenu belongs to include the American Academy of Family Physicians, Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians and Louisiana State Medical Society.

Dr. Bienvenu will begin seeing patients starting October 16, at 1402 West 8th Street, Kaplan, LA. Office hours are Monday – Thursday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Most insurances are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid.
