New CEO named at St. Martin Hospital

Lafayette General Health (LGH) has announced the appointment of Karen O. Wyble as Chief Executive Officer at St. Martin Hospital, effective today. Wyble brings years of experience in the medical industry to her new position. Bryan Laperouse, FACHE, served as Interim CEOof the hospital during the candidate search.

In Wyble’s most recent position, she served as Regional Vice President of Operations at LHC Group. Her role was to operationalize teams for the home health-partnered agencies while developing the concepts for the referral process.

Prior to her role with LHC Group, she was Chief Operating Officer of Heart Hospital of Lafayette (HHL)/Vice President of Cardiovascular for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Under her leadership, HHL earned a Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital Award from Thomson Reuters in 2012.

Wyble began her work in healthcare at Lafayette General Medical Center, when she was a Critical Care Registered Nurse from 1991 to 1996, Case Manager from 1996 to 1997, Manager of Telemetry and ICU from 1997 to 1999, Director of Cardiology from 1999 to 2002, Administrator of Cardiology and Pulmonary service lines from 2002 to 2004, and Assistant Vice President of Nursing from 2004 to 2005. With her as Director of Cardiology, LGMC was named a Top 100 Cardiovascular Hospital three times.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Loyola University in New Orleans, Wyble earned two master’s degrees, in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration, from the University of St. Francis in Joilet, IL. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Nursing at Loyola.

With her various roles in healthcare, Wyble has served in senior leadership and executive positions, and at the front lines of care delivery. Lafayette General Health says it is looking forward to her bringing that expertise to help St. Martin Hospital continue to achieve new benchmarks in quality outcomes. “We are thrilled to have someone so experienced to take the lead at St. Martin Hospital,” says David L. Callecod, FACHE, President of LGH. “We know she’s going to serve that hospital and the people of St. Martin Parish very well.”

Wyble was born and raised in Arnaudville. She has been married for 33 years to Roy Wyble, Jr., and they still reside in the area. They have three sons, Roy III, Lane and Cade.
