University Hospital & Clinics earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) under a national program aimed at helping patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of the respiratory care services available at hospitals. About 700 hospitals, or approximately 15% of all hospitals in the United States, have applied for and received this award. This was the fourth year in a row UHC earned this recognition. UHC and Lafayette General Medical Center are the only two hospitals in Acadiana recognized by QRCR.

LGMC was designated a Breastfeeding-Friendly Workplace Champion by the Mary Amelia Douglas-Whited Community Women’s Health Center and the Louisiana Breastfeeding Coalition. LGMC received the designation for providing time, space and support for employees who breastfeed or pump milk to feed their babies.
