Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) was named a 2016-17 Consumer Choice Award Winner by National Research Corporation (NRC) for its eighth-consecutive year. LGMC has won the award every year it has been given since 2002. The award identifies hospitals across the United States chosen by healthcare consumers as having the highest quality, the best doctors, nurses and image.
“We pride ourselves on how we treat each other here in Acadiana and that translates to how we treat our patients,” says Patrick W. Gandy, Jr., LGMC CEO. “This will be a great boost for our staff to know patients appreciate their hard work and positive attitudes.”
The Market Insights survey is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive study of its kind. No other study measures hospital performance and preferences, and contains more consumer responses than this study. National Research surveys more than 300,000 households in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia. Hospitals named by consumers are analyzed and ranked based on Core Based Statistical Areas defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, with winning facilities being ranked the highest.
“For each of the past 21 years, winning hospitals have provided outstanding experiences that have transcended their four walls to drive consumer preference, trust and loyalty in their markets. We are honored to congratulate this year’s winners on a job well done,” said Brian Wynne, Market Insights General Manager at National Research.
