Cancer Center of Acadiana (CCA) at Lafayette General Medical Center is seeking men and women, between the ages of 18 and 80, diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma to participate in a clinical trial.
This research study, being conducted at multiple hospitals nationwide, will investigate the effectiveness of a drug in use with the current standard chemotherapy treatments in patients with previously untreated, activated B-cell, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).
Oncologist Salman Malad, M.D., will preside over this study.
This is a Phase III clinical trial. Drugs that successfully pass Phase III may be approved for use in the general population by the national regulatory authority.
CCA participates in clinical trials and studies to help improve patient care and disease prevention.
Physicians, nurses and other team members at CCA will thoroughly instruct a patient on potential risks and benefits of participating in a clinical trial. The staff will then closely monitor and assess the progress of the trial and continue this through follow-up care.
For more information on this and other clinical trials available at Lafayette General Medical Center, call (337) 289-8658.
