We did it again! Lafayette General Health (LGH) earned seven top finishes in the latest “Best of Acadiana” readership survey conducted by The Times of Acadiana.
Lafayette General Health locations were voted first in four different categories:
LGH was also runner-up in the “Best Walk-in Clinic/Urgent Care,” “Best Cancer Care” and “Best Specialty Hospital” categories. LGH Urgent Care Centers have three locations in Acadiana, at River Ranch in Lafayette, at Sugar Mill Pond in Youngsville and in Carencro. LGH’s Cancer Center of Acadiana (CCA) locations make it more accessible for cancer patients to receive treatments across Acadiana. CCA offers services in Lafayette, Opelousas, Eunice, Crowley, New Iberia and Abbeville.
This year’s poll marks the 11th time since 2005 that LGMC was voted Best Hospital, and the 11th-consecutive year for landing Best Emergency Room. This was the second-consecutive year LGMC landed a first-place finish for Best Place to Have a Baby. Deliveries at LGMC have increased 56% since 2012. This was also the third year in row LGH, one of Lafayette Parish’s largest employers, earned the top spot in the Best Places to Work category.
“We are truly humbled the Acadiana community supports our efforts of providing excellent healthcare,” says Patrick W. Gandy, Jr., CEO of Lafayette General Medical Center. “This is a great accomplishment to our employees, who give their best each and everyday to our patients. Thank you, Acadiana!”
The Times announced the winners of the poll Wednesday night at its annual “Best Of” party hosted this year at The Victorian in Broussard, where special early editions were handed out to guests in advance of Thursday’s weekly publication.
