Lafayette General Health Honored by United Way

United Way of Acadiana (UWA) generously honored Lafayette General Health (LGH) at its annual awards banquet Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Lafayette Hilton. LGH was presented four major awards in addition to other recognitions for its support of United Way through fund-raising and underwriting efforts.

The major awards presented were the Annual Campaign Gold Award, the Pinnacle Award, the Leadership Giving Award and the Luminary Award. LGH was also named a Titanium Level 2014 Corporate Cornerstone Partner. LGH President David L. Callecod, FACHE, who serves on the UWA Board of Directors, was given an award of appreciation for serving as Vice Chair on its 2014-2015 Audit Committee.

The Campaign Gold Award was presented for having 10% campaign growth or more from the year before. The Pinnacle Award was given to the top 30 performing companies in Acadiana. The Leadership Giving Award recognized LGH for being among the companies with the highest numbers of Leadership Givers (donations of $1,000 or more). The Luminary Award acknowledged LGH’s performance in “lighting a path of excellence” through leadership and making a difference.

LGH’s work with UWA, led by Director of Security Anjanette Hebert, takes place throughout the year, but culminates in the system’s largest, single fundraiser – the Gumbo Cook-off, held each October at Lafayette General Medical Center. Last year, the cook-off helped raise approximately $120,000 for UWA.
