Lafayette General a ‘Great Place to Work in Healthcare’

National trade magazine Becker’s Hospital Review named Lafayette General Health (LGH) one of its “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” for 2016. The list features healthcare providers, such as hospitals, health systems and home health agencies, as well as consulting firms, medical societies and more from across the country.

LGH was credited for offering its employees tuition reimbursement and free in-house continuing education. LGH also offers employees free flu shots, discounted membership to the system’s health and fitness center and discounts through local and national vendors. Other employee discounts are available for select events, clinical apparel and cellphone services.

With over 4,000 employees, LGH is one of the largest employers in Acadiana. It owns, operates or is affiliated with healthcare facilities in nine surrounding parishes, including Lafayette General Medical Center and its Southwest Campus, Lafayette General Surgical Hospital, University Hospital & Clinics, Acadia General Hospital, LGMD Physician Group St. Martin Hospital, Oil Center Surgical Plaza and Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital.
