Lafayette General a ‘Great Place to Work in Healthcare’ for 2017

National trade magazine Becker’s Hospital Review named Lafayette General Health (LGH) one of its “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” for 2017. This is the second consecutive year LGH has won this award. The list features healthcare providers, such as hospitals, health systems and home health agencies, as well as consulting firms, medical societies and more from across the country.

LGH was credited for offering its employees free in-house continuing education, free flu shots and discounts through local and national vendors. Other employee discounts are available for select events, clinical apparel and cellphone services.

With over 4,300 employees, LGH is the largest private employer in Acadiana. It owns, operates or is affiliated with thirteen healthcare facilities in nine surrounding parishes, including Lafayette General Medical Center, Lafayette General Southwest, Lafayette General Surgical Hospital, University Hospital & Clinics, Acadia General Hospital, LGMD Physician Group, St. Martin Hospital and Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital.
