Lafayette General Foundation (LGF) announces the appointment of its 2016 Board of Directors. In addition, Nancy de la Houssaye Broadhurst joins LGF as Development Officer. Ms. Broadhurst will oversee a variety of fundraising activities in order to raise funds, grow resources, build donor relations and raise awareness to support the mission of LGF.
Mrs. Madlyn Hilliard will remain as Chair of the Board. William Fenstermaker returns as Vice Chair. Randy Haynie has been re-elected as Secretary, and Arthur Price as Treasurer. Other board members include Bennett Boyd Anderson, Jr., and Jared S. Quoyeser.
David L. Callecod, FACHE, President of Lafayette General Health, and Cian Robinson, Executive Director of Lafayette General Foundation, also remain on the board.
Broadhurst is a marketing and public relations executive with over 30 years of business experience in management, marketing, government, public relations, business protocol, fundraising and resource development. She brings a wide range of experience in both the for-profit and non-profit arenas. Her well-rounded background includes; strategic marketing and planning, brand development, media relations, community outreach, non-profit management, charity event planning, donor stewardship and fund development.
Most recently, she was executive director for the Friends of New Orleans Recreation Department. She managed the non-profit organization and helped to secure millions of dollars in private, corporate, city, state and federal funds benefitting the revitalization and beautification of New Orleans neighborhood parks and playgrounds. Concurrently, she was appointed to serve as a commissioner on the board of the Audubon Nature Institute where she was active for eight years. She served on the New Orleans Super Bowl XXXVI Host Committee as Co-Chair of Special Events & Event Services. Prior to that, Broadhurst served as marketing director for Kentwood Spring Water in New Orleans. Additionally, she served as marketing and public relations director for Acadiana Bottling Company in Lafayette.
Broadhurst earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1980. In addition, she holds a certified nursing assistant certification from South Louisiana Community College.
