Lafayette General Finalizes Regional Medical Center Acquisition

Lafayette General Health (LGH) has signed the final paperwork to officially complete the acquisition of Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. The hospital will reopen at 12:01 a.m. on November 6th as Lafayette General Southwest (LGSW).

“We are honored to welcome a second campus of Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC), and over 500 new employees, to our family of healthcare professionals,” said David L. Callecod, FACHE, President of Lafayette General Health. “This extension of LGMCfurthers our commitment to deliver healthcare excellence throughout our entire community.”

LGSW is located at 2810 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, at the corner of Ambassador and Congress Street. The hospital is currently licensed for 128 beds.

An official ribbon cutting and grand opening will be scheduled in the coming weeks. Lafayette General will not hold a news conference in order to let our transition teams coordinate operations with LGMC in order to allow for a smooth conversion. More details will be released later this month.
