Lafayette General Endoscopy Center Welcomes Physician Jacob Karr

Lafayette General Endoscopy Center (LGEC) welcomes Gastroenterologist Jacob Karr, M.D., to its staff. Dr. Karr will offer the latest treatments in endoscopic services, including screening and diagnostic endoscopy and colonoscopy; plus minimally invasive procedures, like Stretta, for treatment of reflux.

Dr. Karr will be joining other physicians at LGEC including Drs. Stephen Abshire, James Arterburn, Jacque Noel III, and Eric Trawick. LGEC is located inside the Burdin Riehl Center, 1211 Coolidge Street, in Suite 303.

A married father of three, Dr. Karr is a graduate of LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Shreveport. He trained in Gastroenterology at Ochsner in New Orleans. His undergraduate degree was in Biological Sciences from LSU in Baton Rouge. He completed his residency at the Department of Internal Medicine at the Tulane University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.

Professional societies that Dr. Karr belongs to include the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology, Louisiana Gastroenterology Society, American Medical Association and Louisiana State Medical Society.
