Lafayette General Endoscopy Center Recognized for Quality and Safety

Lafayette General Endoscopy Center (LGEC) has again been awarded a three-year Certificate of Recognition for Quality in Endoscopy from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), a leading gastrointestinal medical society.

ASGE promotes the highest standards of endoscopic training and practice, fosters endoscopic (endoh-scopic) research and is the foremost resource for endoscopic education. The Society honors endoscopy units in the U.S. that demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and quality in endoscopy by meeting the program’s rigorous criteria.

To be recognized by ASGE, an endoscopy unit must demonstrate policy adherence and ongoing performance assessment relative to key quality indicators. The unit must also attest that it has established infrastructure and personnel dedicated to infection control and prevention.

Lafayette General Endoscopy Center has received this quality and safety recognition since 2009.
