LGMC was designated as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and Surgical Review Corporation. According to Center of Excellence guidelines, achieving this status ensures that the safest, highest quality of care is delivered to minimally invasive gynecologic surgery patients.

Lafayette General Medical Center was voted “Best Hospital” in The Times of Acadiana 2013 readership poll for the eighth time since 2005. Voters also named LGMC “Best Emergency Room,” a place it has occupied every year since 2006. LGMC was a runner-up in the categories of “Best Cancer Care,” “Best Place to Have a Baby” and “Best Walk-in/Urgent Care.”
