The Urgent Care Association of America designated Lafayette General Health (LGH) as a Certified Urgent Care provider, distinguishing its urgent care centers. LGH’s Urgent Care Centers, located at River Ranch in Lafayette and Sugar Mill Pond in Youngsville, provide patients with walk-in, extended-hour medical treatment for a wide scope of medical conditions. LGH’s Urgent Care Centers are always staffed with a licensed physician, unlike many walk-in clinics that staff only a Nurse Practitioner. LGH Urgent Care Cetners earned certification by meeting all criteria established by the Urgent Care Association of America.

Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) was named a 2015 Women’s Choice Award recipient for being one of America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Safety. This distinction is the only evidence-based designation that identifies the country’s best hospitals based on robust criteria regarding patient safety, specifically what women say they want from a hospital. The 310 hospitals selected as America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Safety nationwide were identified based on having a low incidence of problems arising from surgical errors and infections.
