November 5, 2014

If you suffer from knee or hip pain, you may want to learn more about a new breakthrough procedure now available in Lafayette. A group of orthopedic surgeons from Lafayette General Medical Doctors are hosting FREE educational seminars in Crowley and in Abbeville to discuss MAKOplasty®, a total hip and partial knee replacement procedure customized to individual patients.

The seminar in Crowley, being presented by Orthopedic Surgeon Scott Yerger, M.D., will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. at Acadia General Hospital, 1305 Crowley Rayne Hwy. To RSVP, call (337) 289-8600.

The seminar in Abbeville, being presented by Orthopedic Surgeon Angela Mayeux-Hebert, M.D., will be held Thursday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. at Magdalen Place, 2 S. Magdalen Sq. To RSVP, call (337) 289-8600.

The seminars will explain the advantages MAKOplasty provides by using 3-D and robotic arm technology, offering surgeons more accuracy, precision and control. The result for patients is less pain, less invasive surgery and shorter recovery time.

Implants also last longer due to less wear, making partial replacement viable for people of younger ages, and fewer replacements necessary for elderly patients.
Refreshments will be served at the seminars.
