Free seminar to teach about knee, hip surgery breakthrough

October 14, 2014

If you suffer from knee or hip pain, you may want to learn more about a new breakthrough procedure now available in Lafayette. A group of orthopedic surgeons from Lafayette General are hosting a FREE educational seminar this Thursday, Oct. 16, in The Eleven Hundred Room at City Club in River Ranch to discuss MAKOplasty®, a total hip and partial knee replacement procedure customized to each patient.

The seminar is being hosted by orthopedic surgeons John Schutte, M.D., Scott Yerger, M.D., Angela Mayeux-Hebert, M.D., and Adam Kennedy, M.D. They will explain the advantages that MAKOplasty provides by using 3-D and robotic arm technology, offering surgeons more accuracy, precision and control. The result for patients is less pain, less invasive surgery and shorter recovery time. Implants also last longer due to less wear, making partial replacement viable for people of younger ages, and fewer replacements necessary for elderly patients.
