First Baby of 2015

By Lafayette General Health
January 1, 2015

The first baby of 2015 born at a Lafayette General Health facility occurred at 7:36 a.m. at Acadia General Hospital. A baby boy to Hayden Pochmara and Devin Rutherford weighed six pounds, seven ounces and was 20 inches in length.

Baby Brantley Tyler needed a little extra help as he entered the world, so the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Transport Team from Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) took Brantley for a New Year’s Day drive from Crowley to Lafayette. Brantley was admitted into LGMC’s NICU at 11:45 a.m. and is in stable condition.

Being such an emotional day, new mom and Crowley native Devin stated, “My experience at Acadia General has been a great one. The nurses and staff have really done a lot to help me with everything and get comfortable. I’m somewhat depressed that I haven’t really got to hold Brantley, but given the situation, I feel at ease knowing he is in good hands at Lafayette General. Hayden and I cannot help but feel thankful and blessed this New Year’s when we think of reuniting with Brantley!”
