The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) granted a Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation to Cancer Center of Acadiana (CCA) at Lafayette General. To earn voluntary CoC accreditation, a cancer program must meet or exceed 34 CoC quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a survey process and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care. Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation is only awarded to a facility that exceeds standard requirements at the time of its triennial survey. For their most recent survey, CCA received all eligible commendations, earning the gold rating, the highest rating awarded to any oncology program.
Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award® as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics. Recipients of this national award, such as LGMC, represent hospitals that women can feel confident about when choosing a place for their maternity needs. LGMC was the only hospital in Acadiana to win the award.
Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) and University Hospital & Clinics (UHC) earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) under a national program aimed at helping patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of respiratory care services available in hospitals.
