Cancer Center of Acadiana at Lafayette General Medical Center Conducting Research Study on Lung Cancer

Cancer Center of Acadiana (CCA) at Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) is seeking men and women ages 18 and older diagnosed with Stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer who are positive for EGFR sensitizing mutations to participate in a clinical trial.

This research will evaluate the effectiveness of an investigational treatment when combined with a commercially available treatment used for a variety of cancers, including non-small cell lung cancer. This study will determine effectiveness in terms of progression-free survival in subjects who have previously untreated metastatic EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer and a BDX004 Positive Label.

The Lung Mass Clinic at CCA is the state’s only dedicated lung diagnostic testing center. It has a group of physicians dedicated to handling potential lung cancer cases, offering patients access to the largest range of diagnostic testing available under one roof in Louisiana.

CCA participates in clinical trials and studies to help improve patient care. Clinical trials can help to expand knowledge about ways to treat cancer.

Clinical trials also empower a patient who may not be responding ideally to treatment to make his or her own decision. Physicians, nurses and other team members at CCA will thoroughly instruct a patient on potential risks and benefits of participating in a clinical trial. The staff will then closely monitor and assess the patient and continue this through follow-up care.
