Award Recognitions for November 2015

Several Lafayette General Health (LGH) affiliates received honors from Press Ganey Associates, Inc., a national leader in healthcare analytics. Press Ganey’s prestigious Pinnacle of Excellence Award and Guardian of Excellence Award honors were bestowed to Lafayette General Medical Center, Lafayette General Surgical Hospital, St. Martin Hospital and LGMD Physician Group. The Pinnacle of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing clients from healthcare organizations nationwide on the basis of extraordinary achievement and consistently high levels of excellence for three years. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing healthcare organizations that have consistently achieved the 95th percentile or above of performance in select categories.

Lafayette General Health’s IT Department was named #4 among the 2015 Best Large Hospital IT Departments by Healthcare IT News, a national industry news and information publication. Healthcare IT News praised Lafayette General’s Mike Dozier, Vice President and Chief Information Officer of IT, for keeping the IT Department “continuing on a straight and steady course” during a tumultuous time for hospitals and IT departments, particularly during ICD-10 billing conversion.

Lafayette General Medical Center was named a 2015/2016 Consumer Choice Award winner by National Research Corporation (NRC). The annual award identifies hospitals across the United States that healthcare consumers choose as having the highest quality and image, as well as the best doctors and nurses. This is the seventh-consecutive Consumer Choice Award for LGMC. In fact, LGMC has been given the award every year NRCdeclared a winner in Acadiana.

Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval by becoming a Certified Orthopedic Joint Replacement Program for Shoulder replacement. This certification reflects LGMC’s compliance with standards set forth by the commission to produce evidence of performance improvement activities.
