Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) has received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award® as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Bariatric (weight loss) Surgery. This evidence-based designation is the only award that identifies the country’s best healthcare facilities based on robust criteria that consider female patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and what women say they want from a hospital.
International Data Corporation’s (IDC) industry publication Computerworld named Lafayette General Health to its 2016 Best Places to Work in Information Technology list. LGH is one of 100 top organizations challenging their IT staffs while providing great benefits. Organizations on the list will be included in coverage in Computerworld along with results from the 23rd annual Best Places to Work in IT survey.
Lafayette General Medical Center received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® Bronze Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific measures outlined for treating patients suffering severe heart attacks.
Lafayette General Health (LGH) earned seven top finishes in the latest “Best of Acadiana” readership survey conducted by The Times of Acadiana. Lafayette General Health locations were voted first in four different categories: Best Hospital (Lafayette General Medical Center), Best Emergency Room (Lafayette General Medical Center), Best Place to Work (Lafayette General Health) and Best Place to Have a Baby (Lafayette General Medical Center). LGH was also runner-up in the “Best Walk-in Clinic/Urgent Care,” “Best Cancer Care” and “Best Specialty Hospital” categories. This year’s poll marks the 11th time since 2005 that LGMC was voted Best Hospital, and the 11th-consecutive year for landing Best Emergency Room. This was the second-consecutive year LGMC landed a first-place finish for Best Place to Have a Baby.
