April 2014 Recognitions

LGMC was named 2014 Hospital of the Year by Southern Eye Bank in honor of National Donate Life Month in conjunction with the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency. This was the fourth time LGMC received the award for facilitating Southern Eye Bank’s mission of saving and restoring eyesight through cornea and tissue donation.

Lafayette General Health was named “Large Business of the Year” for 2014 by Junior Achievement of Acadiana at their 18th annual Business Hall of Fame event. LGH was honored for being one of the area’s largest employers, with many of its employees serving as volunteers in various capacities that benefit the entire community.

Lafayette General Medical Center was recertified as a GIFT Designated facility by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. A GIFT (Guided Infant Feeding Techniques) facility is recognized as having implemented “The Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding” recommended by the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
