Acadia General Hospital (AGH) has opened a new imaging center, featuring an upgraded MRI system, in a building located next to the hospital campus. MRI Acadia General Imaging, located at 1113 E. Northern Avenue, has an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machine offering the highest platform of technology to perform the latest clinical applications. The new facility began accepting patients Thursday morning.
The FreeWave R3 model MRI machine, manufactured by Philips, achieves high quality images and provides access to a range of new options to clinical specialists. The machine’s features include 4D-TRAK (vascular imaging), k-t BLAST (faster scans) and 2k Imaging (high resolution). It offers outstanding signal-to-noise performance, and is capable of performing techniques that require high data rates, bandwidth and resolution.
