Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital Outpatient Department Expands Hours

Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital (AKMH) is expanding the hours of its Outpatient Department. The department will begin seeing patients on Saturday mornings from 7 a.m. – Noon, starting October 7.

“We have heard the requests from community members, and are focused on keeping healthcare close to home,” said Bryce Quebodeaux, CEO at AKMH. “We continuing to make changes at AKMH to better serve our community.”

Services included in the Outpatient Department’s expanded hours are lab tests, X-rays, CAT scans, EKG tests, infusion therapy and pre-operative work-ups. All CAT scans must be pre-authorized by the insurance provider, and scheduled with AKMH by 3 p.m. on the Friday. Infusion therapy must be pre-authorized by the insurance provider prior to receiving treatment. Physician approval is required for all pre-operative work-ups.
